The total cost of the HomeServe home warranty plan may vary depending on the selected plans, partner, added discounts, and area of residence. It claims its home repair plans start from $7.99 per month, but this price may not be the same in every state.

Deductible

Apart from the monthly premiums, you must pay the service fee or deductible listed on the declaration page. You must pay this amount to the company or technicians during each service visit. This amount can range anywhere from $0 to $100 and is non-refundable.

HomeServe may offer you a 20 – 50% discount on home warranty plans depending on the chosen services and location.

Note: Before the services begin, validation checks are carried out. HomeServe USA may charge your credit card or debit card for this purpose. Note that this payment is made only once and is non-refundable.

• Exterior Water Service Line: Covers corrosion, age, or ground shifting issue to exterior water lines
• Exterior Sewer/Septic Line Plus: Covers clogs and breaks
• Interior Plumbing & Drainage: Cover burst pipes, leaks, and clogged drains
• Home Plumbing & Drainage: Covers 4 primary plumbing services; Exterior Sewer/Septic Line, Interior Plumbing, Interior Drainage, Drain Cleaning

Heating & Cooling plans:

• Heating System Coverage: Covers heat pump and furnace.
• Cooling System Coverage: Covers air conditioning unit.
• Gas Line Coverage: Covers interior and exterior gas leaks due to valves or fittings.
• Water Heater Repair & Replacement: Covers repair and replacement of your water heaters.

Electrical Plans:

• Interior Electric Coverage: Covers outlets, wiring, light switches, and fuse box
• Exterior Electric Coverage: Covers riser, insulator, service entrance conductor, and meter base

HomeServe USA, unlike other home warranty companies, does not offer optional coverage.

HomeServe Coverage Limits

All home warranties have yearly coverage limitations of how much liability a company has when repairing and replacing covered items. The dollar limit for each plan is as follows:

Plan Exclusions

Home warranty plans do not cover everything; here are some things that HomeServe USA will not cover:

• Damages and losses, whether from negligence, accident, or otherwise.
• Reimbursement for any repairs made by you without informing HomeServe.
• Repair or replacement if the failure is caused by: an explosion, chemical, mold, soil, movement, storm, pet damage, pest, or vandalism.
• Repair and replacement of septic tanks, grinders, and pumps.
• Missing parts, structural changes, electrical failures.
• Electronic or energy management systems, such as programmable thermostats, low-voltage wiring and relays, lighting, and appliance management systems.

Apart from that, Homeserve states that if the customer is aware of any of the pre-existing conditions or defects with the covered item prior the start date, it will not be eligible for coverage.

Note: Your home warranty may have other exclusions; we recommend reading the sample contract thoroughly.

HomeServe USA is partnered with various local utility companies to provide you access to reputable and qualified contractors or technicians who will perform repair services at fair prices. Some of them are:

SoCalGas

The Southern California Gas Company, SoCalGas, is known to be the primary provider of natural gas to Los Angeles. However, it offers optional billing arrangements with HomeServe, where you can choose any repair services from its a-la-carte list.

Aqua

It is a water utility company based out in Pennsylvania. HomeServe partnered with it in 2003, and since then, it’s providing various services. These include interior plumbing & drainage, cooling system, exterior sewer line & restoration, heating system, exterior electric line, water heater, interior electric line, and IPD SSL.

The City of Baltimore

In its partnership with HomeServe, the city of Baltimore offers services for exterior sewer/septic lines, water service lines, and exterior line coverage.

PSEG WorryFree

In the partnership with PSEG WorryFree Long Island LLC, repairs plans are provided to eligible customers, including interior plumbing and drainage, gas line coverage, exterior sewer/septic line, water heater, water service line, home appliance repair plus, exterior electric line, interior electric line, and cooling system coverage.

Dominion Energy 

It offers services for interior plumbing and drainage, heating & cooling system coverage, exterior sewer/septic line, gas line coverage, water service line, electric surge, water service line restoration, water heater, and sewer/septic line restoration.

FPL Energy Services

It provides budget home emergency repair services which include: an exterior sewer septic line, water service line, water heater, gas line, interior plumbing & drainage, and interior & exterior electric line.

Suez Waters USA

 It offers plans for interior plumbing and drainage, cooling system coverage, exterior sewer/septic line, water service line, heating system coverage, exterior electric line, water heater, and exterior line coverage.

Cleveland Water

It is the most extensive clean water supplier in Ohio & partnered with HomeServe to provide repair services for interior plumbing and drainage, water service line, exterior sewer/septic line, and water heater.

City of Memphis

In a partnership with HomeServe, it has coverage plans for interior plumbing and drainage, interior and exterior electric lines, water service line, water heater, heating & cooling system, electric surge, and exterior sewer/septic lines.

FirstEnergy

FirstEnergy with HomeServe provides coverage plans to customers in New Jersey with the following services: exterior sewer/septic line, cooling system coverage, water service line, heating system coverage, exterior electric line, water heater, and interior electric line.

Charlotte Water

In this partnership, the plans for Charlotte HomeServe are the repairs of water and sewer lines.

CenterPoint Energy:

In partnership with HomeServe, it provides services to Louisiana’s natural gas customers, including repair plans for natural gas and water lines.

Quality of HomeServe Customer Service

The most important sign of a company’s reputation is how well it serves its customers and the quality of its services. HomeServe claims to offer round-the-clock customer services on any submitted claim. However, customer reviews indicate that they had issues with technicians, and the company provided no support on this matter.

Claim Filing Process

The claims process at HomeServe USA is pretty simple. Repairs are also swift since they hire local professionals near your home. The procedure is as follows:

• To seek service, call the company’s 24/7 customer support hotline at 1-855-336-2465 or use the HomeServe Application. You can also submit your claim using their website.
• HomeServe USA will connect you with a local expert, and you may schedule the service appointment yourself. 
• In an emergency, HomeServe USA offers emergency service repairs which you’re supposed to inform the company via phone. 

There may be a limit on repair services, for which we recommend you to read the service agreement thoroughly.

HomeServe offers a workmanship guarantee of 12 months on all covered repairs and a 90-day repair guarantee on surge plan repairs; you can start filing claims after 30 days (waiting period).
