Choice Home Warranty Cost

Choice Home Warranty plans cost $45-$55 per month or $550-$660 per year. The pricing may vary depending on select factors such as the place of your residence, the size of your home, the add-ons you choose, and more. 

Another charge you’ll incur is the trade service fee or deductible, a pre-approved fee you are expected to pay to the technician when they visit your home to diagnose and repair the problem. Choice’s deductibles may range from $60-$85, depending on your location.

Choice Home Warranty Plans & Coverage 

Choice offers two plans for homeowners – 

• Basic Plan – Covers essential home systems like Plumbing, Electrical, etc, and appliances like dishwashers, built-in-microwaves, and more.
• Total Plan – Covers what the basic plan does plus Air Conditioning system, Refrigerator, Clothes Washer, and Clothes Dryer.

Real Estate Plans 

Choice also offers three real estate plans – Choice Plan, Choice Plus, and Choice Ultimate – that can be bought for up to 5 years. A one-year plan ranges from $420 to $520 and increases based on the term length, optional coverage, and more.

Choice Home Warranty Coverage Limits

Following the norm in the home warranty sector, Choice Home Warranty also comes with its set of exclusions and limitations. Their dollar limit, as referenced from their sample contract, is set at $3000 per item for a 12-month period. However, you should note that each item may have a limit of its own.

Plan Exclusions

Choice Home Warranty excludes certain parts and components from coverage. For example, even though they cover a home’s electrical system, parts related to an energy management system or generator are not covered.

Another key stipulation you should note is that Choice Home Warranty only covers items that break down due to routine wear and tear. Home warranties, unlike homeowners insurance, do not cover damages that are a result of natural calamities, neglect and misuse, pre-existing conditions, etc. 

In order to place a successful claim, we recommend going through your service contract in detail to understand all the terms and conditions.

Choice Home Warranty Claim Filing Process 

Choice Home Warranty’s claim process is relatively simple. Here’s a step-by-step description of how it could go – 

• You can file a claim, online or over phone, when a covered item breaks down during the coverage period. 
• The customer service representative will schedule an appointment with the relevant contractor.
• You’ll need to pay the deductible to the service technician when they arrive. They will diagnose and suggest either repair or replacement. 
• After the diagnosis, the company has to approve the next course of action, whichever it may be.
• The covered damage will then be fixed or replaced by the technician.
