Our Opinion

Trinity Solar uses high-quality solar equipment, but its consumer reviews are mixed, which shows areas where this solar panel installation company can increase its customer service. Like many other large solar contractors, customers can buy or lease a solar system, and financing is available.

Its service area is relatively small compared to other large solar companies and has offices in the Northeast and Florida. Trinity Solar is one of the few large solar companies that is privately held.

Trinity Solar Products And Services

This solar company installs a variety of high-quality solar equipment, including solar panels and batteries, and provides solar system monitoring through its own app.

Trinity Solar Panels

Trinity Solar inc. installs Hanhwa Q Cells, a high-quality solar panel with a 25-year product warranty. Often, Q Cells are manufactured in the United States and are a trusted name in the PV industry. These solar modules are 17.4% to 21.4% efficient and commonly last for 25 or even 30 years.

Solar-Batteries

Trinity Solar Batteries

Typically, Trinity Solar installs two types of lithium-ion batteries for backup power during grid outages. The Tesla Powerwall 2 has 13.5 kWh of electricity and comes with a 10-year warranty and 70% of its original capacity. The PWRcell solar battery by Generac offers a 9 kWh battery that can be increased in 3 kWh increments and comes with a 10-year warranty.

Trinity Solar Inverters

Trinity Solar primarily uses SolarEdge central inverters but varies by installation. These inverters are known for their quality and come with a 12-year warranty.

Other Features

In addition to quality solar components, Trinity Solar also offers additional features.

Trinity Solar Connect App

The Trinity Solar referral program pays $1,000 for each referral. It uses the Trinity Solar Connect app to manage and track solar energy customer referrals.

Trinity Solar State Availability

Trinity Solar offers services in the following states:

Trinity Solar Warranty

Customers that use the solar lease program are not responsible for repairs for the contract period. For customers that purchase their solar systems, they include a 5-year labor and workmanship warranty. However, the solar panels and inverters typically have much longer warranties.

For example, SolarEdge inverters come with a 12-year warranty that can be extended. Hanhwa Q Cells have a 25-year product warranty. However, customers who buy their solar systems will likely need to pay for labor after the 5-year period ends, even if the equipment is still covered under the manufacturer’s warranty.

Trinity Solar Cost

The cost of the solar installation varies by location. In general, Trinity Solar costs are moderate and are rarely the cheapest or most expensive option. The cost of a residential solar system with batteries is considerably higher than a solar system without a solar battery bank.

Trinity Payment Options

Trinity Solar offers leases and the option to purchase a solar system. Under a solar lease, homeowners pay a monthly fee to rent their solar panels.

Discounts/Offers

A federal tax credit is available for solar homeowners that install solar panels on their primary or secondary homes. The tax credit is 26% for systems installed in 2022 and 22% of the solar power system cost in 2023. However, customers are not eligible for the federal tax credit if they lease their solar energy system instead of buying or financing it.

So an $18,000 solar energy system installed in 2022 could qualify for a $4,680 tax credit with the IRS. However, the same PV system installed in 2023 could qualify for a $3,960 credit. However,  unless the tax credit is extended, it will end in 2024. We recommend speaking with a tax expert to ensure you can take advantage of this excellent solar incentive.

Also, some electric utility companies and state & local governments in the Eastern U.S. offer additional solar incentives. Refer to the DSIRE database for information about PV incentives in your area.

How does Trinity’s installation process work?

The solar installation process begins with receiving a free estimate for a solar system on your home. If needed, you can apply for financing and or for a solar lease. After that, the Trinity Solar team of PV contractors will install your system and connect it to your electrical panel. Once your system is up and running, you will start seeing the electric bill savings.

Trinity Solar Customer Service

The company has a pretty solid reputation for completing quality solar installations and providing good customer service. It has received many 4 and 5-star reviews from existing customers. However, a small percentage of Trinity Solar customers do not give high consumer ratings.
