Palmetto Payment Options

There are different payment plans available through Palmetto. With solar leases, you would pay a fixed amount monthly for your solar panels. Under a PPA, the amount varies based on solar electricity production.

Discounts/Offers

A federal solar tax credit is available for solar installations on your primary or secondary residence. The tax credit is at 26% for systems installed in 2022 and 22% of the system cost in 2023. However, you are not eligible for the solar tax credit if you lease a solar energy system or enter into a PPA. You must own the solar system to be eligible.

Therefore a $20,000 solar energy system installed in 2022 could qualify for a $5,200 tax credit. By contrast, the identical system installed in 2023 could qualify for a $4,400 credit. However, unless extended, the federal tax credit will end in 2024. We recommend speaking with a tax expert to ensure you can take advantage of this valuable solar power incentive.

In addition, some states have utility rebates, government rebates, and state tax credits available. Refer to the DSIRE database for information about incentives in your area.
